چکیده

In this paper, we review the electronic voting protocols based on blind signature scheme. These protocols try to fulfil the following electronic voting requirements: eligibility, privacy, receipt-freeness, fairness, accuracy, individual verifiability and universal verifiability. Some of them like eligibility and privacy are easily achieved by the nature of blind signatures; on the other hand, some others like universal verifiability and accuracy are not achieved without some assumptions and conditions. Thus, the certain number of voter involvements into the voting process is definitely required; otherwise the malicious authority can add extra votes or impersonate abstained voters.

Why Public Registration Boards are Required in E-Voting Systems Based on Threshold Blind Signature Protocols

In this paper, we demonstrate that e-voting protocols based on threshold blind signatures from multiple authorities allow a coalition of eligible voters to cast more than votes. This property presents a serious violation of the principles of democracy in the voting process. We analyze the applicability of this violation and provide a generic solution using a public registration board and modifi...

Votinbox - a voting system based on smart cards

The complexity of voting procedures, and their variations from country to country, make it challenging to design a secure electronic voting system. In most of the usual proposals, the security of the system relies mainly on a blackbox voting machine. Meanwhile, the most advanced proposals base their security arguments on (complicated) cryptographic protocols, e.g. blind signatures or homomorphi...

Double voter perceptible blind signature based electronic voting protocol

Mu et al. have proposed an electronic voting protocol and claimed that it protects anonymity of voters, detects double voting and authenticates eligible voters. It has been shown that it does not protect voter's privacy and prevent double voting. After that, several schemes have been presented to fulfill these properties. However, many of them suffer from the same weaknesses. In this p...

Lecture 18 : Mix net Voting Systems

In the previous lecture, we defined the notion of an electronic voting system, and specified the requirements from such a system. In particular, we required an electronic voting system to be verifiable and robust. Loosely speaking, a voting system is said to be verifiable if any individual can verify that his vote was counted. A voting system is said to be robust if there does not exist any sma...

How to fit cryptographic e-voting into smart cards

Canard and Traoré proposed cryptographic primiti...
